You’ll also meet godly men and women from a variety of industries for a series of very practical discussions on topics like career planning as Christians, leading in the workplace and business as a mission field.
If you wrestle with questions about your work, or if you care about someone who does, this conference is for you.

Pre-Conference
9Marks Pre-Conference: Pastoring Christians for the Workplace | |
---|---|
How can church leaders better equip their people for the workplace? A sizable percentage of church members spend over forty hours a week on the job–in the board room, on the sales team, at the law firm. And they need help knowing how to work for Jesus there. How can you help them, pastor? To help answer that question, the Gospel at Work in partnership with 9Marks is offering a pre-conference specifically geared for church leaders: “Pastoring Christians for the Workplace.” |
Post-Conference
Access Partners Post-Conference | |
---|---|
Have you considered how God can use your skills and experience for missions? One of the biggest needs in unreached cities is for Christians to engage in the marketplace. Come and learn how you can take your job and business overseas. We will discuss case studies and share how you can take practical next steps.Founded in 2006, Access Partners creates hubs for the gospel in unreached cities through business. To that end, Access Partners provides simple business solutions to church planters, partners with Christian businesses to launch larger scale ventures, and mobilizes professionals to take jobs in such strategic cities. The past eight years, we are grateful to have helped over 400+ church planters in 30+ countries. Access Partners businesses include the largest training center in a majority Muslim country, a high end services firm in the Middle East/North Africa region, and a JV with an oil & gas company. Access Partners has over 60 staff in 6+ countries.
Target Attendees: Professionals interested in moving overseas to an unreached location for missions and/or business owners considering international expansion opportunities. |
Breakout Sessions
How the Gospel Transforms Leading and Managing | |
---|---|
Ramiro Rangel | Has God put you above people in your workplace or do you desire to move up the corporate ladder? Are some people born leaders and managers and others are just not? Doesn’t it seem like every book written on leadership becomes a New York Times best seller? Ramiro – who has years of experience leading and managing in the energy business (yet desires to grow as a leader every day) will help you explore how the gospel calls us to lead differently from the rest of the world, as well as, will offer you practical wisdom to grow as a leader. | |
Evangelism: How to Share the Gospel Boldly and Winsomely | |
Ashok Nachnani | What does it look like to be an active evangelist in the workplace? How can you talk about Jesus appropriately with your co-workers and even your boss? What are ways we can actually hurt our witness in the workplace? Ashok Nachnani – who himself became a Christian in large part through the witness of a co-worker – will help you think through how to grow as an evangelist in the workplace. | |
How to Choose a Job: A Christian’s Guide To Career Planning | |
Sebastian Traeger | Should Christians ‘plan’ their careers or trust in God to open doors? Is it a trade-off? What are the priorities you should consider when making a job change? By applying biblical wisdom, Sebastian Traeger helps us learn to trust God with our futures by making God-honoring, practical, and grounded plans. | |
Building a Christ-centered Work Environment (Owners/Entrepreneurs) | |
Tony Capucille | Should there be a difference between businesses owned by Christians and businesses not? Is there such thing as Christian-companies? Should there be? If you are building a business what values should you input into your DNA? Tony will help you think through how the gospel affects corporate values, work environment, etc. | |
Working for a Tough Boss: How the Gospel Transforms Authority | |
Pete Hammett | Do you work for a tough boss? Do you agree with 100% of the decisions made in your work place? Pete – who is a lay elder and had 20+ years of experience in the marketplace, will help you understand the biblical theology of authority, and how that actually plays out in real life…even if your boss is on the pay roll of Satan himself. | |
What Work Can and Cannot Do For You: The Counterfeits of Contentment | |
Clyde Collier | When you lay your head down at night, do you truly feel content and thankful for all you have? Or do you desire more? Do you ever feel like you make enough money? Have enough family time? Vacation in enough interesting places? Not long ago, bowing on his knees in his office, the Lord wrecked Clyde and his worldview. Clyde will share the scriptures, and his personal testimony and experience in understanding the counterfeits of worldly contentment verses what the Bible claims to be true contentment. | |
Discipleship: Today’s Unanswered “Calling”? | |
Patrick O’Neal | Jesus invested his ministry years building into the lives of 12 people. Then His disciples did the same. Then their disciples did the same. Jesus’ plan of making disciples through life on life relationships changed His disciples and changed the world. And this ‘calling” has not changed since then. Now it’s our calling and our time to influence the world! |
